The Four Automation Metrics That Actually Predict Revenue
Most automation dashboards show you vanity metrics. These are the four numbers that actually predict whether your automations are growing the business.
If your automation dashboard is full of big numbers with green arrows and your revenue line is flat, you're measuring the wrong things. These are the four metrics that have predicted every successful automation we've shipped — and the two we've stopped tracking entirely.
1. Time-to-first-reply
Under 30 seconds is the target. Anything higher and you're losing conversions you'll never see.
2. Handoff rate
How often does the conversation move from bot to human? Too low means your automation is ignoring real buying signals. Too high means it isn't answering basic questions.
3. Reply-to-link-click ratio
This measures whether the conversation is actually leading somewhere. Healthy is 40 percent or higher.
4. Attributable revenue
The only one that really matters. Track it per automation, per keyword, per campaign — and kill anything that can't point at a number here within 30 days.
